Happy New Year!

I hope you all had a fun and festive holiday season. I thought I’d start out 2019 by sharing my favourite things to do every January. Despite the dreary weather, the first month of each new year presents an opportunity for a fresh start. To begin with, I try to get up early, eat a healthy breakfast, and make a list of goals I hope to accomplish over the next twelve months. Last year, my greatest achievements were publishing my second book and writing my third. This year, I’m hoping to publish my third book, finish the first book in a new series, and get myself a literary agent—three lofty goals that feel like a tall order on day one. However, I’m an optimist. There’s no reason I can’t accomplish my goals.

After giving it some thought, I’ve concluded that in order to accomplish my goals, I need to organize myself better. I’m excited to tell you that I bought a traditional day planner. I figure what better way to keep myself on track than to write things down? I am going to set goals for each day, each week, and each month. I will go over it each morning with coffee. I’ve been using my smartphone to organize my time but it doesn’t work well. I’ve come to realize that I prefer to have a little book that I keep with me. I can write little notes and have the satisfaction of crossing off tasks or goals as I complete them.

So far, three days into the year, I’m happy to report that things are on track. I’ve completed my to-do lists, set tasks up for the coming days and weeks, and enjoyed the exercise of crossing things off my lists. Do you want to share your goals for the year? How do you plan to stay on track and not fall behind?

Good luck and think big! It’s never too late to follow your dreams…

Onward,
Lynn
