Autumn has arrived at last. It’s my favourite time of year. I have a new list of whodunnits to read and I’m ready to stoke up the fireplace once again. It is also my favourite time to write. I’m beginning a new series and I couldn’t be more excited. I spend my days writing and my evenings reading. Summer months are my time off, when I think about stuff like story outlines and character development. Every fall signals the start of a new project for me and I absolutely love it. With a new series comes a lot of work. It’s not just new characters—it’s a whole new world. Setting, tone, style—so much to think about! Of course my favourite is always trying to carve out the personality that will be my protagonist and (almost as importantly) the sidekick, who offers humour and support. Well, there you have it. Why I love these cool, colourful, wonderful days of fall. How about you?
